I am a Naturopathic physician and midwife providing Portland,OR area families with holistic, effective, and creative ways to bring health into balance. I have a practice in SE Portland’s Sellwood neighborhood, Family Tree Medicine. I think of myself as a body mechanic, helping my patients to understand how their bodies function to get them through each day.
I love teaching and connecting with the public. I love my job. I’m starting to do more writing these days so if there are topics you’re wondering about please don’t hesitate to email me: amanda(at)familytreemedicine(dot)com, and I will do my best to post what I know to be true.

Hi Amanda,
Love your postings and I am so happy to learn that you are thriving with your work and life.
My life has taken a couple of turns since we last communicated. I have trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and have been teaching at the hospital for a couple of years. Next year I will begin MBSR at JMU. Within a couple years I hope to adapt the program for high, middle and elementary schoolers. I’m glad to have the opportunity to put all those years of meditative practice to good use.
Yes, I’m still at JMU and still doing biology/bug stuff.
When you have a chance send an email. I actually have a bug question for you dating back to the resilin days (the resilin ms is getting close to finished and ready to send off).
With metta,
Steve Keffer
